I think this semester has been the "easiest" so far. I'm only taking 5 classes compared to the 7 I took each semester last year. Thanks to my lighter course load and feeling like I'm not getting what I want out of my major, I took a course at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) in Dynamic Web Art & PHP. It was a 6-weeks long, once a week for 3 hours. At its completion, I am really happy that I took it and pleased with the skills I acquired. It was the course to be taken after the beginner course, which I didn't do but I enjoyed the challenge.

It was a lot of content in a short amount of time, and I definitely need to keep practicing and learning but I feel confident with this new basis of knowledge in a new language. I'm hoping to take another course at OCAD next semester in Advanced Web Art and Design, CSS and JavaScript Frameworks. Until then, my goal is to redesign my website between school and work. I'm currently interning at Helios Design Labs, an awesome multidisciplinary design studio. I don't know when or how, but I'm hoping to almost recreate it with WordPress using my new PHP knowledge. If not, I have some new designs in the back of my head for changing the layout. I feel like I've already grown out of what I've done, but I suppose that's like any work that one does.

I also had the wonderful opportunity to go out to California for 10 days to visit my boyfriend who is pictured and mentioned in many previous posts. Long distance is tough but it also makes the time we have together so very special. I felt as happy as I did when we were in Germany; care-free and just blissful. I got to experience the awe and curiosity that I love so much of seeing and experiencing new places, like San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. It's also refreshing to know that I've found somewhere that I see myself living when I graduate and who I want to spend that time with. San Francisco is my goal. I would do LA too. Or Portland. Something new.
